An embodied approach

Pleasure and connection are at the core of being human.

The thinking mind can often cloud the experience of the body, hence Charlie’s focus on strengthening somatic (‘of-the-body’) awareness for deeper, more aligned relationships with ourselves and others.

From this place, we can feel more, make better choices, relate and communicate positively, fully embracing all of life.

Drawing on different modalities such as Sexological Bodywork, Embodied Counselling, Kink & BDSM, live performance & creative practices, parenting and permaculture, Charlie’s approach is holistic and honed to the individual.

How I work…

#1 Orientation

An introductory phone call will help you decide if Charlie is a good fit for you. If that feels good, you can book your first session, either online or in person.

#2 Session work

Every session begins with a check-in and from that place we agree on which practices or process will best serve your learning needs that day. We slow everything right down so observation can enable new neural pathways to form. Each session finishes with time to reflect and debrief.

#3 Home play

Change happens through repeated practice over time. Home-play exercises give you more chance to cultivate change. Charlie will also send through additional resources to support your exploration.

TESTIMONIAL

I always felt respected, comfortable and never judged.

Charlotte has helped me personally unveil, demystify, and normalise what has always been taboo and a dirty secret. She helped me uncover my intimate needs and wants and learn to communicate this to my wife.

After 30 years of marriage, we are just getting started! Thank you, Charlotte, for liberating my sexual ‘being' and helping save my marriage.

WHO IS THE

EROTICUREAN?

(ĕr′o tee-kyoo-rē′ən)

adj.

  1. Devoted to the enabling of erotic pleasure, especially to the enjoyment of touch and connection.

  2. Curating experiences for quality erotic engagement.

  3. Educating people in the art of eroticism.

n.

  1. A devotee to sensuous and erotic living; an eroticure.

  2. Professional hedonist.

Charlie has invented this word, ‘eroticurean’, to reflect all the threads of her passions. She has delved deep into her own creative, therapeutic and professional process, forever curious about what it means to be human in this weird and wondrous world.

Interactive sensory performance-making was the original antidote to a life of disconnect and dissociation.

She pioneered the sensory theatre movement in Australia. Being ahead of her time, she was forever chasing funding, sometimes failing to live up to her own vision, winning awards others, and often changing people’s lives through unique, immersive arts experiences.  Parenting catalysed a shift in priorities.

A desire for more fulfilling relationships and fully embodied connection inspired this path of deeper erotic exploration.

Through independent workshops, events, ravenous reading, therapy, online study and intensive practical courses Charlie learnt about embodiment, play, communication, attention, negotiation, boundaries, presence and sensation and their role in erotic fulfilment.

These tools have had a profound impact on every aspect of her life as well as transforming the quality of her erotic world and relationships.

Charlie recognises her privilege as a white, cis-queer woman. She is fortunate to work and play on Wurundjeri land, in Melbourne, Australia.
